Works for me
My dogs run and swim the shore as I paddle the slowly moving river near my house. There are branches and roots they have cross over. I always hesitated to put pfd’s on them for fear of entanglement. These are easy to adjust with minimal dangling straps or other areas to snag on branches.

I purchased a large for my 65 lbs golden retriever and an XL for my 110 lbs yellow lab. No problems with fit. The grab handle seem to be big enough if need to use to assist my dogs in and out of the water. However, I haven't used it.

Works like it should! Keeps our girl afloat in the lake. We’ve used others and she struggled to stay evenly afloat. But since this is based on weight and measurements, she’s all set.

Full disclosure: we haven’t tested it out in the water yet, but I sense it will work just fine and as expected. I wanted to comment on size because there seems to be a lot of uncertainty. Dogs are each built a little differently, but that being said, the MEDIUM, fits my 7mos old, 48lb Lab perfectly with room to grow. I don’t think there’s a lot of room to grow and, considering her age, I expect we’ll eventually have to move to the large.
The style is great with thin buoyancy/padding so it’s not bulky at all. Adjustable straps with guard along waist to avoid pinching when buckling. Two buckle points for easy on/off. I’ll update if functionality doesn’t live up to the rest of it.

Totally missed the mark.
I just bought this for my dog. I have used other brand life jackets on my dogs for years. I got this one since I had a coupon. First of all, the sizing is way off. My dog is a 30lb lean border collie. I bought the small since it said for dogs 20-60lbs. This thing would barely fit a chihuahua. I had the straps extended to the max and could barely get it on him. More importantly, even if it did fit, I would never trust it in the water. It is not secure, does not cover enough of the body for safe floatation, it certainly doesn’t have enough flotation material for the weight dog it suggests, it slips right off even when strapped snuggly, is uncomfortable, and the handle is not well placed for hoisting the dog out of the water. The color is also not bright enough to aid in spotting the dog in the water. Wish LL Bean would go back to selling more reliable brands or more quality products.

great fit even for a small dog
I bought this for some extra security for my small dog (under 10 lbs). I bought the extra small and luckily it still had room to tighten more which means she will be able to grow into it. She has used it once and it worked great. The handle on the back is helpful and it has a couple of different buckle points for getting it on and off.
