This exclusive flannel zip hoodie is woven just for us by true artisans in Portugal. These expert craftspeople meticulously brush our Scotch Plaid fabric eight times on each side to create a long-lasting material with that distinctive smooth and cozy feel. But that doesn't automatically make it plush enough. It still needs to pass the "touch test." Only a master weaver can declare it soft enough.

Beware of shrinkage and size up
The shirt is Fantastic and I love it, however there was more shrinkage than expected and now the sleeves are too short and the shirt is uncomfortable. The value for a 2-3 time wear is too high and I recommend ordering a size up and if you are over 5’5” I recommend ordering tall.

Best Flannel Shirt Available
Added the Bean of Freeport natural color choice to my collection of Bean’s flannel shirts. It’s a perfect weight, sleeves fit my petite size and it washes well. I always line dry and have not had problems with shrinkage.The natural color can be worn with pants in the brown color family.

SCOTCH PLAID ZIP HOODIE
One word - quality. Quality construction (seams finished and reinforced at stress points), quality fabric (not lightweight but not heavyweight), quality fit (not too big, not too small). Got an XL because I don't like snug clothing and it fits comfortably. Soft. Colorful. I will get years of wear out of this - just like all of my other LLBean purchases.

Nice but needs some tweaks
I really like the idea of this zip hoodie... That thing you grab when running out or cozying up and want an extra layer. It’s warm, comfortable (mostly), zips up easily, nice plaid.
What I don’t like is it’s a bit boxy when zipped up; the front puckers out and is unflattering, sort of, like a tent dress (maybe I need a smaller size?). The material could be a little softer so that it lays right (maybe washing a few times will make less stiff) and the length should be longer so it falls below the “saddlebags” With some adjustments, this could be a great go-to.
