First coat that has kept me warm
I bought this a few weeks ago to prepare for a cold Massachusetts winter waking my dog, and I'm very happy with it. I was worried about the zipper after reading some reviews, but I have no issue with it. The only issue is have is if I zipper it all the way and not use the hood, it's a bit tight around my neck, but I might have needed a bigger size

Great Coat
I’m so happy with this coat purchase. The style, the fact that it’s waterproof and windproof and not a piece of Velcro on it. I was worried about the zipper after reading reviews but I was able to zip it up the first time without any effort.

Great coat, bad zipper
Very warm, waterproof, stylish, but the zipper is so hard to get started, almost not worth it. Every time I go to zip it takes 3-4 tries before it will finically zip. It’s plastic, not metal. Once it finally starts to zip it zips up just fine, so frustrating especially in a hurry. For a 400.00 coat, this is unacceptable

Tired of shorter items
As with most L.L. Bean tops, this coat runs shorter than is comfortable, I'm 5'9 and a half. I find it insulting that the standard size for women defaults to smaller (including height) framed women. This is not representative of a third of the female population (unless this brand only wants to be featured on a certain type of person).

Love it
I purchased this coat two years ago and it still does not disappoint! I always get compliments on the look. Recently I was at a football game that was around 30 degrees. Outside until midnight for a double overtime game. My entire family was cold, but me. And I am always cold, but was comfortable as could be! I wear this jacket working as a homecare worker, and I am never cold between patients, and last winter it was freezing; down to single digits.
Never had a problem with the zipper, lots of pockets, including an inside zipped pocket (holds my wallet and phone) great jacket!!!

Gorgeous parka but made for someone shorter
I ordered this parka as I have the original Maine parka and wanted something longer for our cold winters in Ottawa. It arrived and the coat looked to be everything the description stated. When I put it on, it was clear that the coat was designed for someone quite a bit shorter than me ( I am just under 6 ft tall ). It has pull tabs on the sides to nip the coat in--on me, the tabs are located near my bustline and they are blacd and very noticeable, so they made the coat look like it was a empire waist ( under my bust ). These tabs are not needed. If the tabs were not there, I would have kept the coat but sadly I had to return it. LL Bean, please consider redesigning this coat and offering Tall sizing for women. You carry Petite, Plus and Regular. Plus and Regular are based on an individual that is average height--5'6". Tall women need longer length in the body.

Zipper defunct
I love everything about this coat... except the zipper. And unfortunately it made it unwearable. I tried over and over again to get the coat to zip, decided I didn't want to battle with a coat for 10 minutes every time I wanted to wear it, and returned it. Bummer!!
