The rugged rubber outsole is not only built for stability, but flexibility too; the cushioned EVA midsole ensures all-day ease - and both are built from the same materials as top-of-the-line walking and running shoes.
- Vibram IceTrek rubber outsole with Vibram Arctic Grip for superior traction.
- Synthetic-covered EVA foam innersole.
- Thermochromatic lug turns blue when the temperatures fall below freezing, so you know it's working.

Perfect... for the most part!
These boots arrived just in time for a snow storm. I was pleasantly surprise with the warmth and comfort. I got the last size 8 on sale so was really happy with the purchase overall.
The right boot was more uncomfortable around the ankle but thick socks helped.

Good walking boot
I bought these hoping they would help me on my daily walks over snowy and icy driveways and dirt roads. They are better than my snow boots but not as good as I had hoped. They seemed to run a bit small and took a while to loosen up, I sized up but probably could not wear my thickest socks.

Loved them Until they fell apart
I Purchased these boots years ago, wore them maybe a handful of times and has no wear on soles showing. Well…. They fell apart and disintegrated when I wore them this year. Will not buy from llbean again as you are expected to keep receipts forever. Hope your house never floods, is in a disaster or any kind because you will be screwed.

Warm Comfortable Snow Boots
I love these boots! I have worn them 4 times now in different conditions and they have worked wonderfully every time. I saw where some people complained about being uncomfortable around the ankle- but no more so than any other boot- as long as I wear nice thick wool socks that come up higher than the boot I do not feel any rubbing that is problematic. I imagine thin socks might not be as comfortable with these boots.
The insulation worked for me in temps around 10-12 degrees - mostly moving, but including some stopping for 5-10 minutes and my feet stayed warm ( which is more than I can ever say for my hands)
Traction got tested on trails at Wolf Neck Woods State Park- about 2-3 inches of snow- with roots and rocks underfoot. I stayed upright for the entire hike- although I am very cautious and would not expect these to keep me upright on icy paths without some kind of studs/spikes added externally.
I have also worn the Storm Chasers on varied surfaces going from snowy sidewalks/ paths to cleared dry roads and paths and they are more comfortable on dry pavement than most boots I have worn. They are not as comfortable as wearing a pair of running or walking shoes on dry pavement- but given that they are snow boots- they exceed my expectations for comfort on hard surfaces with more of a cushioned feel than my old Keen Snow boots.

Still the best winter boots I have had...
After several years of owning two pairs they are both still in excellent condition!! I live in rural BC Canada and they keep my feet warm and dry and no slips while walking... I'm in my mid 70's and need to be sure of my walking self... so thanks again for a great product!

Unsure of Opinion
Foot bed is very comfortable but my right ankle hurt after wearing them. Not sure why as there wasn’t any sort of injury. I couldn’t wear them more than one day.

AWESOME BOOTS
I have had these boots for 3 years now and there is not anything better. They are light, warm, comfortable, and pretty close to like walking in sneakers. The keep my feet perfectly dry and handle mud, slush, and rain. Do not hesitate to purchase. Please never change this design!!
