Wonderful just Wonderful
I bought one of these and just love it. it's part nostalgia but more than that it is quality. This jacket is wool and warm. Although it's not wind proof it is very and warm to 40 degrees or so. I just love it I really do and also bought one for my grandson! I recommend!

Perfect mid weight jacshirt
I was looking for something less than a coat and heavier than a shirt. This is the perfect in between and will layer well. Very well made and absolutely quiet if you are a hunter.

Great Product
I’m very active outdoors, a big wool fan, wear XLT, and the fit is perfect. I like the two button cuff adjustment and deep slash pockets. Overall workmanship and quality is very good.

Decent tracking coat for hunting but....
So this is my three-year review of this jacket. TLDR, it has held up well, I love it, but I don't think it's worth the full price Bean's is currently asking. Read below for details.
I typically wear a medium or fitted large in most of Bean's clothing. I bought this in a large and typically wear a Merino wool base layer, and sometimes another heavy flannel (depending on how active I am). As a lightweight wool tracking jacket it works really well for an active hunter. If you hunt from a stand, or sit a lot, this likely won't be warm enough on it's own.
Pros:
-pattern is fantastic for breaking up your outline.
-the fit works best with one or two base layers.
-after wearing it for the last three years, not only for deer season, but also bird hunting, collecting fir boughs for Christmas wreaths, hunting snowshoe hair, and ice fishing, it has held up really well with no damage despite ample raspberry patches, cedar swamps, regenerating hardwoods, and spruce-fir thickets.
-nice and lightweight
-quiet in the woods
-cape sheds snow and water well and adds an additional protective layer to the shoulders
Cons:
-really wish Bean's would bring these back with the game pouch in the back. They used to do it and stopped for some reason.
-it needs better interior pockets
-they use a cheaper, recycled wool, with a looser weave. This is not windproof in the slightest.
-because it's not virgin wool, it can be a little scratchy on bare skin. Not the greatest with only a t-shirt on.
-I know prices are up for manufacturers, but in my opinion, $200 for a jacket with this kind of wool and weave is steep. Especially when you can go to other companies in the Northeast and pay $40-60 more and get the same style jacket, but with much better quality wool.

Love this coat but
I really do. Mine has a long horizontal zipper in the back right hand side which is cool…but I have no idea what it’s for. Is it a feature specific to hunting im nit aware of? (Not a Hunter.)
