Hope it improves with wear.
The sweater is heavier and stiffer than I expected. But it fits true to size. I’m hoping after a couple of washings that it will soften up and be a little more comfortable to wear.

Disappointment
This is one of the most disappointing purchases I have ever made. As the owner of a yellow Labrador, I was so excited to see this sweater and knew I had to have it. I will echo the sentiments of other reviews posted and add that the sweater I received does not reflect the images of the sweater featured online. Wish LL Bean would produce a corrected sweater because everything besides the design is perfect.

Dog Fair Isle Sweater not as represented in photo
I received my River Rock Dog Fair Isle sweater today. The dog’s ears and eyes are red and it lacks a nose. In the photo online it is shown with embroidered brown eyes and nose and the ear is embroidered tan. The sweater color also looks dingy. It is being returned immediately. I’m very disappointed. Not typical of LL Bean.

Lovely cotton boot sweater
I am a fan of LLB 100% cotton pieces, like this sweater. I like and already have some of their cotton fisherman cardigans, but this was on sale and had the boot motif and a pretty blue color, so I bought it. The only pain is waiting for it to dry flat on a towel for a few days, but I don't dare put it in the dryer or else it will shrink. Like the cardigans, there are a few scattered loose ends poking through here and there. Overall though, I'm happy I got this sweater.

Background color: dirty laundry water
I was so excited when I saw this sweater in the catalog. And just as disappointed when I received it. The background color is Bleh like the color of dirty laundry water. The dog ears & eyes are terra cotta, the same color as the accent color in the fair isle design which saved production cost but to me, ruined the dogs😩. This is basically the same sweater design as the Women's Signature Cotton Fisherman Sweater Crewneck, except this one has the fair isle design & a Bleh background color. Because the cotton yarns are so thick, the fair isle design part feels like shoulder pads on my shoulders which is nice for extra warmth. I’m uploading a photo of the inside of it. My photos include this sweater next to Women's Signature Cotton Fisherman Sweater, Crewneck so you can see the color difference. Next to my Caucasian skin color, this dirty laundry water color is bleh! I’m so disappointed in this all around, I returned it.

Great sweater but went back
Great design, great fit. Loose enough to layer a collared shirt under, but not sloppy. Love the doggy design, but the one I received did not look like the photos - the details of the dog were different, and the eyes were the same red yarn as the surrounding hearts, which looked strange. Because of this detail, I returned it. If it had looked the photos, I would have kept it. Will have to decide whether it is worth it to try a re-order.

Nice sweater
Very nice sweater. I got the one with the blue flowers. It is heavy - good for midwest winters. Medium fits nice. (5'5", 140 lbs).
