I am returning this robe
Someone else posted that this robe is soft on the outside and, in words to this effect, a bit rough on the inside. Having just tried mine on, I agree with that person's review. I am sorry to say that I am returning this robe. I much prefer praise, and particularly in public. And I really like LL Bean!
While color is a matter of personal taste, for my own self I would prefer a softer, less brownish-cast shade of dusty rose instead of the washed orchid. Other people might really love that color. Again that part of it is personal taste.
My organic cotton robe from LL Bean has been hanging on for 8 years. It has no holes as of yet, is VERY soft and cozy, I love it. It is starting to wear thin and it is time to replace it. I am sorry that LL Bean is no longer carrying the organic cotton women's robes and hope they will take note of my reiterated requests/reviews for this, which were each given 20+ and even 30+ likes, in one case. Please note that I have NO connection to the organic cotton industry and no inside connections. I am merely a customer and a concerned, informed consumer. Thank you all and gratitude to LL Bean for offering some organic cotton things here and there, at good prices. I hope LL Bean will become an industry leader in the ALL organic cotton products across the board, as the Newest and Coolest Way to Go Green and to Give Bees a Chance...to so much as survive!* Hey, extinction is not profitable is it? Sorry for the hard hitting ending there, but again this is truly important and could even be a good business move. Thank you LL Bean and thank you to all the concerned customers who indicated their interest and concern in this too. I hope LL Bean will take note. Appreciation.
*Stephanie Seneff PhD, senior research scientist with the MIT, published a recent book titled Toxic Legacy. In that book, she referenced one single almond orchard sprayed with glyphosate (heavily doused on GMO cotton), and reported alarmingly, that in one single winter and in that one orchard alone, fully one Billion bees died! That capital B is not a misprint. It is a very serious situation and we consumers have to take it very seriously. This is why I am repeatedly appealing to LL Bean to please set a new fashion trend with all organic cotton products at good prices. Thank you LL Bean! Your quality is great and we appreciate you.

Not bad but lasts about 6 years
I have 3 of these, 1 for me and 2 for my wife. Mine is for occasional use in the pool and is fine but the straps for the belt broke after 5 years. My wife has 2 for the bath. The year old one is worn through under the arms. The 5 year old one has the same strap issue as mine. Wont buy again as I am trying to decide if I buy a cheaper one every 3 years or see if a more expensive one will last longer. Reference - at this moment I am wearing LL Bean Corduroys, LL Bean socks and LL Bean shirt - not a hater.

Plush Terry robe
I am totally disappointed with this robe. The outside is soft as advertised, but the inside feels like a cleaning cloth. The seams, particularly around the collar abrasive . I've washed it twice hoping it would help, but it did not. I wasted $100 on this robe!

Plush Warm Robe
This was supposed to be a X-Mass present, never made it that far. Given the early cold snap now use this every AM & PM. So warm, recommended!

Ordered reluctantly, here is why.
Do others here feel the same way I do? Having posted multiples of times asking for a return of the women's organic cotton terrycloth robes, and with as many as 36 likes and 20 + likes on the two others I posted, well LL Bean still has not taken note. (? Or maybe we will be lucky enough to have an organic terrycloth robe coming soon? I hope so!) The current one has a fake polyester softness that I really do not like. But having hunted the web over for a good quality robe, and tried one whose loops shed onto the floor right out of the package, well I am reluctantly now giving up and going with this one. I never favor the idea of harming the bees with glyphosate spray, with which GMO cotton is heavily doused (cotton is known to be the dirtiest crop in the GMO industry). I am also very concerned about shielding health with as few chemicals as possible (the skin does absorb chemicals, as best I understand it) and the organic terrycloth robe I got fully eight years ago, is only now fading! And ohhh sooo soft ! That's pretty incredible durability. Considering the current polyester-GMO Cotton (ugh!) version, I do like the orchid color and will give it a try. If I keep it I will wash it several times before wearing it, but I don't like adding glyphosate to the waters, and after washing it, I still am not assured of the garment being as pure as organic cotton. A senior advisor to the US EPA wrote that glyphoate is incorporated into all tissues, and the way it incorporates makes it difficult to get ride of. I am purchasing this current robe until I find something fully organic, soft, high quality and which I like better. I will post an update if I decide to keep this one, this is my second try. Stay tuned!
