Not very warm
Would not recommend as the down count of 850 seems like it would be warm but it is not - anything under 45 degrees and I find it does not keep me warm. I had an 800 jacket from another company and it could be worn all winter. Definitely need to replace this coat.

Ultralight down jacket
Misleading pic online and in catalog. Much less down in reality. Would not recommend.

Great Jacket
I have owned numerous down hooded jackets from different companies and this is my favorite. Unlike some of the others the outer shell on the Ultralight 850 is more durable. My only issue has been with one of the pocket zippers and the teeth broke off. Since I have the navy Ultralight the zippers are off red so you can not just pick up a new zipper and LL Bean doesn't sell replacement zippers. LL Bean will fix but that means 8-12 wks without a jacket. Fortunately, LL Bean stands behind their jackets

Excellent Outerwear!
I bought my first two pre covid. I've purchased 2 more since, the most recent a month ago. I have two with hoods and two without. I bought large enough, that I can wear something under them. I've also worn them under a ski jacket on the coldest of days. My wife has four. The non hood version packs right into an inside pocket, and can be used as a pillow on a flight we love them!

Great Jacket ….. but?
Had this jacket for a couple of years now I loved it. It’s extremely expensive but it’s been the most versatile warm and lightweight jacket I’ve ever owned in my life. The washing instructions say you can wash it in a washing machine on cold water with like colors, but when I did the down in the one arm completely separated and fell out of place and matted up in balls in a couple different areas of the arm. Basically the jacket is ruined and will not look right when I wear it and I’m extremely disappointed about this never spent so much money on a coat in my life and to take good care of it and adhere to the washing instructions inside the label and the jacket just basically did not wash right and is ruined.

Very nice weight to warmth.
Incredibly light weight. Haven’t had a chance to wear it in Minnesota cold weather, but it packs away nicely and it’s great for the last few days where the morning temps have dropped to the upper 30’s.
