Thread count refers to the number of horizontal and vertical threads woven in a square inch of fabric. However, higher thread count doesn’t necessarily mean better quality sheets. Thread count isn’t everything: it is the quality of the cotton that is critical to comfort and durability. In addition, finishing can also enhance the softness/handfeel of sheet, so a sheet with a lower thread count but with enhanced finishing could actually feel softer then a higher thread count sheet.
Our HOME GOODS team works closely with our bedding partners for the best quality fabric and construction. In addition, all of our sheets are rigorously tested in our in-house lab to ensure they will hold up to regular washing. To find the best sheet for you, we suggest you focus on sleep preference/fabric feel over thread count.
Buy the same size as your mattress – however, be sure to consider extra depth if you have a mattress topper. We always share our mattress length, width and fitted sheet depths to ensure you have the best fit.
All of our percale sheets are ideal for all-season use. For flannel fans, our Ultrasoft Comfort Flannel features a 5 oz. weight that’s comfortable year round.
Are your sheets free of harmful chemicals?
Both are premium long-staple cotton. Our 280-Thread-Count Pima Percale sheets feature USA-grown pima cotton, prized for its softness and durability. Egyptian cotton is known to be one of the softest, most durable cottons in the world due its long staple fibers; it can be grown inside and outside of Egypt.

Note: Our XL Twin FITTED sheet measures 39” x 80” (vs. regular Twin at 39” x 76”). Our regular Twin FLAT sheet can also work with XL Twin size bed. Our Cal King FITTED sheet is 72” x 84” (vs regular King at 78” x 80”). Our regular King FLAT can work with Cal King sizing.
