I bought this pack specifically to use as luggage on a two week trip. I wanted to limit myself to one bag that fit under the seat. I worked beautifully; using compression packing cubes, I brought clothes for nine days (did laundry once during the two weeks) and brought work stuff, computer and kindle in the other pockets. I used the bag every day during the two weeks in the traditional fashion - carrying gear to and from work, and it is perfect for that as well. It was quite heavy on trip days but still comfortable to wear/carry; the two handles (top and one side) are great for negotiating airplane aisles. If you require 1,000 different pockets, this may not work, but if you want the basics done right - and you want it to fit under an airplane seat - I highly recommend this pack.

Built for college
Perfect for college! My daughter wanted a backpack for college and found this to be the perfect color and perfect width for her narrow frame. It’s extremely comfortable, holds her laptop and iPad Pro and books and her water bottle securely. It’s made of heavy duty fabric that is not stiff or bulky and seems to be sewn very well.

Perfect color, but needs more pockets
I LOVE the color of this bag! It is the perfect purple. The straps are very comfortable, as is the padding on the back. The water bottle pocket is nice and stretchy. So it will accommodate many different sizes of water bottles. However, The one thing I really wish this bag had was a good place to store your phone that is easy access. There are no exterior pockets to put anything you may need quick access to. This is why I am not giving it five stars.
