Inspired by our iconic Field Coat (originally named Maine Duck Hunting Coat), first introduced in 1924.

Great coat, but updated design disappoints
Great coat. I bought it because, unfortunately I needed the next bigger size from the one I bought a number of years ago. This new one fits nicely, but I’m really quite disappointed that the upper pockets on this new, larger coat are discernably smaller than my older jacket’s. I don’t quite understand why llbean would make pockets smaller than before. The lining is also lighter…the last one had a quilted lining, this one’s lining is flannel.

Barn “coat” NOT a coat, but a jacket.
I ordered this barn coat because I had ordered a blue one years ago and loved it so much that I wanted a tan one. Well, I ended up returning it. It’s not a coat! It’s now a jacket! My older one was a thick, quilted inside coat. Was so disappointed!

Couldn’t LOVE this barn coat more — love all the little details that make it feel extra special — the cozy flannel lining, chocolate brown corduroy cuffs and collar, Princess seams for shaping, plus a faux belt for a tailored look! Fit me TTS with room for a sweater underneath. Thanks to the turnup cuffs, the sleeves fit perfectly too!

Fall coat for crisp mornings
